The Sultanganj Buddha is the oldest surviving Buddha figure of its size and spent several centuries hidden in a hole. It dates from 4th-7th Century India and is now at the Birmingham Museum & Art Gallery, UK.

The Buddha's right hand is shown in the Abhaya Mudra, imparting the gift of fearlessness.
