This large bronze statue of the Buddha, weighs 250 tons and 34 meters (111 feet) high, is the world's tallest outdoor seated bronze Buddha.

Sitting peacefully on a lotus throne on top of a three-platform altar, the Giant Buddha statue is located near Po Lin Monastery and symbolizes the harmonious relationship between man and nature, people and religion. Visitors have to climb 268 steps in order to reach the Buddha.
